Frequently Asked Questions
Information is for general wellbeing routines only and is not medical advice. Always follow the instructions on the product page and packaging.

Patch use and application

  1. Wash and dry the area. Skin should be clean, dry, and intact.
  2. Avoid applying on areas with heavy friction from clothing.
  3. Press firmly (use the palm of your hand) for around 20–30 seconds to help the adhesive bond.
  4. Keep your routine consistent (same time of day) so you can track what works.

General best practice for transdermal patch use includes clean, dry skin and correct application technique.

Choose a flat, comfortable area that won’t rub. Avoid:

  • broken, irritated, or very sensitive skin
  • areas you will expose to direct heat (see heat question below)

Rotating placement sites reduces the chance of skin irritation.

Yes. Rotate application sites and allow previous areas to rest. This is widely recommended to reduce skin reactions with patch use.

Avoid oils/lotions before applying (they can reduce adhesion). If you use moisturiser, apply it after removing the patch, not right before a new one.

Usually yes, but:

  • Avoid soaking in very hot baths/saunas
  • Avoid prolonged direct heat on the patch area (see below)
If an edge lifts, press it down firmly.

Heat can change how patches behave and may increase skin absorption for medicated patches. General patch safety guidance recommends avoiding external heat sources (heat pads, electric blankets, hot water bottles) and prolonged heat exposure.

  • Press it down firmly with the palm of your hand.
  • If only one edge lifts, you can use a suitable adhesive film/tape to secure the edge.
  • If it falls off completely, do not “patchwork” it back on—replace according to your routine and product instructions.

General guidance for loose patches includes pressing firmly and securing loose edges with appropriate tape/film.

  • Remove the patch.
  • Do not reapply to the same area.
  • Allow the skin to rest and rotate sites next time.
  • Moisturiser/emollient is typically recommended after removal (not before application).

Rotating sites and post-removal skincare are common recommendations to reduce reactions.

No. Do not cut patches unless the product specifically states it is designed to be cut. Cutting can affect how the patch performs.

This is a standard caution for patches generally.

Use only as directed for that product. If you’re unsure, start with one patch and keep your routine consistent.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

General patch guidance emphasises safe handling and keeping patches away from children/pets.

Fold it sticky-sides together and dispose of it safely so children or pets cannot access it.
